Editorial Board and Contributor's Procedures

All content has been reviewed by at least one member of the Board who comprise of medically qualified individuals and are hand surgery specialist.  

All article submitted must be from medically qualified authors with a hand surgery specialist as one of the authors

The Board’s function will be to :- 

  1. Organize the internal functions and responsibility
  2. Establish the content and infrastructure of the knowledge warehouse
  3. Identify, invite and produce guidelines to contributors
  4. Develop a system of collecting, collating and storing the data
  5. Analyse and edit all contributions with open, frank and tolerant attitude
  6. Publish and maintain the atlas on to chosen platform
  7. Procure all needed assistance and resources to achieve the objective

 

The Board and contributors will participate on the principle of self funding .

 System

 Maximum utilization of multimedia technology will be the basis of the system for the board to function.

All communication will be through group e mail

For uniformity all required software will be based on Microsoft

Authoring and publishing will be Microsoft FrontPage 2002 on a web/browser based platform

All imaging to be in gif/jpeg for stills and mpeg for video.

All contributors who are unable to edit imaging will send their images in raw high resolution format ( for stills and video in raw footage) with instructions on what is required for the publications. All accompanying narrations must be clear and sent with instructions on placement on timeline.

 

The Philosophy of the board

Knowledge is universal and belongs to no one

Disseminate knowledge as freely as possible

Knowledge is useful only if used

Allow anyone to share their knowledge

Ultimate objective is to improve the quality of hand surgery universally

 

Contributors’ skill requirement

 Basic IT skill – email, word processing (Microsoft Word )

Basic photography preferably digital imaging

Ability to record video preferable

Collections of images with text to accompany

Adhere to datelines

Share value of the Board

Point your browser to the location of the RocketLauncher Joomla installation package on your server (whichever domain/folder you uploaded to). You will then see the Joomla 1.5 installation screen.
